About the Haunt:
The creepy giggling of a little girl. The horrible shouts of a young boy in pain. Shadowy figures seen roaming about the grounds.All in a day's work at Slater Mill.
For more than 200 years, Slater Mill has sat on the banks of the Blackstone River. It was built in 1793 by Samuel Slater and was the first successful water-powered, cotton-spinning mill in North America. It is considered by many to be the birthplace of American industry.
It's also one of its most tragic haunts.
Because of the intricate nature of the work done in the mill and the machinery needed to do it, young children were utilized at Slater Mill and the accompanying Wilkinson Mill. Scores of those children were maimed by the machinery, and some were even killed in industrial accidents that were never recorded.
Now a museum and historical landmark, the buildings of Slater Mill create the perfect storm for paranormal activity. With the ever-churning Blackstone River charging the ions in the air and the stone walls of the mills full of the quartz known to trap energy, the factors are there for a haunt. The mill's tragic history provides the final ingredient.
Attendees to the Graveyard Shift event will visit the bell tower, where screams are heard when there’s no one else around. You’ll visit the wheel pit, where a 10-ton wheel moves 2,000 gallons of water per minute, and where people report an uneasy feeling and have even been scratched by unseen entities.
You will also have the chance to investigate the machine shop, where visitors report the immense pressure of someone pushing on their chest and machinery fires off on its own; the Wilkinson Mill (1810), where people hear their names called out and report shadow people stalking around. You may even catch a glimpse of the apparition of a former factory worker seen in the windows of the building when they are supposedly empty.
There will also be the chance to investigate the Sylvanus Brown House (1758), which was moved to the Slater Mill property as part of the historic park. The spirit of a little girl has been reported there, giggling and playing tricks on visitors.
Slater Mill has been featured on the Sy Fy Channel's Ghost Hunters, the Travel Channel's Most Terrifying Places in America and has been written about in books such as Andrew Lake's Ghosthunting Southern New England.

Carl L. Johnson has been exploring reports of unusual and unexplained occurrences
with his twin brother Keith during the past three decades, specializing as demonologists. Carl was featured in the first two seasons of the popular SyFy
Channel show Ghost Hunters, and in five episodes of The Haunted series on Animal Planet. In addition, Carl has been seen on the recent
“Big Rhodey” episode of Finding Bigfoot, also on Animal Planet, as well as the Travel Channel special Most Terrifying Places in America.
Carl is employed at historic Slater Mill in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and has developed a program of seasonal evening tours for Old Slater Mill
Association titled, "Mills and Mysteries: A Ghostly Experience!" which are directed by both Carl and Keith. Carl continues his investigating of
strange phenomena with Beyond The Veil Paranormal Research team organized by Dina M. Palazini. 
Keith E. Johnson has well over 30 years of experience as a paranormal investigator. He's
had an interest in the paranormal since he was a teenager when he had phenomena occur in his own home. In the seventies, he was a member of the paranormal
research group Parapsychology Investigation & Research Organization, out of RI College. Keith has been featured on the SyFy Channel hit Ghost Hunters
and was a member of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS). Keith has been featured as a demonology consultant in two first season episodes of the A&E series
Paranormal State as well as assisting with documentaries dealing with the paranormal including New Gravity Media’s 14 Degrees. Keith and his wife
Sandra are co-founders of New England Anomalies Research and host a local TV talk show dealing with paranormal topics called Ghosts R N.E.A.R. which airs
locally in Rhode Island and can also be seen online. He is also the author of the Paranormal Realities series of books.

Andrew Lake: is a Rhode Island native who lived in a haunted house for five years, cementing his fascination with ghosts and their antics. Andrew formed Greenville Paranormal Research in 2006 and has worked with some of the best ghost hunters the Northeast has to offer. He is currently producing, writing, and directing documentaries about haunted locations around New England and he’s part of the 30 Odd Minutes cast and crew. His first book, Ghosthunting Southern New England, was just published.
Matt Moniz: The man simply known as "Moniz" began investigating the paranormal more than 25 years ago, and brings that experience to "Spooky Southcoast" every week. Matt is a research chemist who isn't afraid to bring the paranormal into his lab and apply the scientific method to his investigations. He's been published in books such as "Left at East Gate" by Peter Robbins and Larry Warren, "Witness" by Budd Hopkins and "Glipses of Other Realities" by Linda Moulton Howe. Specializing in UFO investigations and abductee cases, Moniz is also the UFO editor for FATE Magazine and has been featured on The History Channel, the Travel Channel, the Discovery Channel and LIVING TV. Tiffany Rice is a Spirit Medium and Reiki Master who has studied with many great mentors, including Maureen Hancock. She is also the host of Spirit Connections with Tiffany Rice, airing on SpookySouthcoast.com's Spooky TV online network as well as on Wareham Community Television Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. She continues to provide private medium readings and intimate gallery readings, Reiki treatments and teaches guided meditation classes. Pam Patalano is a gifted psychic, medium, telepath and spiritual counselor. She also practices psychometry (object reading). Her gifts were passed down from her grandmother, who died when she was four years old.
