Water Street Café
Water Street
Battleship Cove
Fall River, Massachusetts
Back in the fall of 2010, we were looking for a cool spot to host a night of lectures and a dinner. Jeanne Padilla, owner of the Water Street Café in Fall River, Massachusetts, told us that her restaurant was haunted. The spirits of former musicians who played on the stage had come back to play tricks on unsuspecting patrons, and a former waitress still roamed the property.
The café was actually in a former print shop that was built back in 1844. With underground tunnels, strange vibes, and really good food, we thought Water Street Café was the perfect spot to host ParaNight 2010. What really sold us was when, during a tour of the location, Tim felt and then saw, out of the corner of his eye, a female presence standing right next to him. When he turned, there was no one there.
The event kicked off with a performance from The EVPs, dubbed “the world’s most paranormal rock band.” With just one practice under their belt, the band rocked through three musical numbers—“Spooky,” “Friend of the Devil” and “Wild Thing.” The band featured lead singer and guitarist Jeff Belanger; lead guitarist and vocalist Carlston “Chops” Wood of Phantom PI; rhythm guitarist Matt Costa; bassist Tim Weisberg; drummer Matt Moniz; percussionist/backup singer Sarah Coombs; and a “special guest!”
As part of the event, some attendees also purchased special room packages at the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast, and Matt Moniz and Tim Weisberg led them on a private investigation of the house.
